The Song of Solomon was a good and essential novel. It talks about different forms of elements such as one in particular, love. Love was just one thing that was mentioned in the novel, it also talked about the motif of flying which was really a metaphor for freedom. The African-Americans were trying to be set free from different aspects that they thought was keeping them out of living on the hands of themselves. Love was thought to be hard to come by just like Sweet’s love for Milkman made him realize he was in love with Hagar that is one way love has influenced Milkman’s life.

What character has the most transformation throughout the story?
Milkman can be understood only by converting the facts over the overall understanding of the story. Milkman has the most influence on everyone’s life because as soon as he gets accepted in the community the story really starts to point out a major transformation in Milkman’s life. He becomes overwhelmed with the past and why things happened because he thought they happened for a reason.
